Teacup Framed Art
I found this beautiful old frame and paid only $16 dollars for it at an estate sale auction! After that my idea for a teacup display began to unfold. First step; finding the perfect moss (something that is very much fake and has no odor). Next step; finding out there there is in fact a glue that defies gravity – Gorilla glue!
This oh so large teacup framed art sits proudly in my “tea room” where I spend time taking photographs and setting up displays.
Directions:
- Find a frame. (Vintage is best.)
- Have a wood backing of some sort. We had extra pegboard, so we used that.
- Purchase the moss. I bought my faux moss from Amazon. It comes in a large roll. It was expensive – unfortunately.
- Purchase the Gorilla Glue.
- Find teacups for gluing. I made sure to only use ones that were damaged or stained so that I wasn’t being wasteful.
- Grab gloves – you do not want to gorilla glue your fingers!
- The rest of the steps involve laying out your decor, cutting holes with scissors, sponging water onto the wood background, squeezing the glue, having something heavy like books or large rocks to weight things down while the glue dries, and continuing on with the teacups. You can see in the video that I had plastic containers to hold the teacups in place along with a heavy rock – or book – set on top to press it down.
