The older version of the Bible in the photograph reads: “having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”

Paul’s words in this letter urge us to have our “hearts enlightened.” We can have the head knowledge, but are we praying for the Spirit to open our eyes and hearts to the hope we have in Christ? Jesus has a hope and a calling for his people. We are his children and our inheritance is secure.
