1 Thessalonians 4:11
The version of the old Bible in the photograph reads: “and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands even as we charged you.”
First of all, as someone who loves to craft, “work with your hands” excites me. I am grateful to God for giving his people the ability to be creative.
But the most profound words are “study to be quiet.” I love this. And I appreciate the older version that uses the word “study.” There is so much to be gained in the practice of living quietly. To be quiet is to not let the world crowd in on your peace.
