“Shanghai” pattern broken china pendant. Made in England with the maker’s mark of W. Transferware in a rare shade of teal.
Pendant 1 ½ x 3/4 inch. Antique brass small cable chain 20 inches long.
I create the type of jewelry I want for myself. (My passion is vintage teacups and plates!) The edges of the china are ground to create a smooth perimeter and coated with sealant for protection. I include paper cards with an image of the original plate or teacup and the maker’s mark. The antique china has lived a storied life and often includes small imperfections such as crazing (fine, hairline cracks that appear only in the top glaze.) Each piece of jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind.
