Category:

“Rhine” brown transferware broken china earrings. Made from a teacup by John Meir and Son, England. Produced between 1840-1870. Gold earring hooks.

*Note in photos – there is print on the back side of the earrings as well as the front.

The earring hooks are stainless steel plated in 18k gold. The overall look is unique, quality, and comfortable for sensitive ears.

I create the type of jewelry I want for myself. (My passion is vintage teacups and plates!) The edges of the china are ground to create a smooth perimeter and coated with sealant for protection. I include paper cards with an image of the original plate or teacup and the maker’s mark. The antique china has lived a storied life and often includes small imperfections such as crazing (fine, hairline cracks that appear only in the top glaze.) Each piece of jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind.
