“Pink Ivy” broken china earrings, made from a teacup, with the maker’s mark of Coalport, England. Produced in the mid 1900s. Small vine pink chintz on the front, with larger scale pink leaves on the back.
The earring hooks are stainless steel and comfortable for sensitive ears.
I create the type of jewelry I want for myself. (My passion is vintage teacups and plates!) The edges of the china are ground to create a smooth perimeter and coated with sealant for protection. I include paper cards with an image of the original plate or teacup and the maker’s mark. The antique china has lived a storied life and often includes small imperfections such as crazing (fine, hairline cracks that appear only in the top glaze.) Each piece of jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind.
