Vintage Fall Decor

Mixing store-bought and vintage fall decor creates a layer of textures and stories.  These faux pumpkins were a splurge from Pottery Barn. The previous year I put real pumpkins inside my home and the bottoms rotted without me realizing it. So these ones were a no-brainer. The vintage is brought in with the silver tray, book, pitcher, and wood crate. (There is a warehouse in Anaheim called “The Crate People” and I have visited a few times for custom furniture, antique french doors, and crates – of course.) My daughter, Chloe, was in charge of decorating this area. She loves birds, so our little feathered friend (fake – this time) joined the party.

I love the simplicity of fall decorating. Browns, creams, a bit of earthy orange. This pitcher holds soft-textured foliage. Another vintage book is brought in to tie the colors together.

My entryway is where the real pumpkins make their home. These beauties are from Trader Joe’s because their prices are always half (or less) of their competitors – and they have an awesome variety! The sign is a made from a piece of milled cedar that my dad gave me. Mums in flower-pots tie it all together.
