Tiny Fruity Cuties Treats

If you love buttery-marshmallowy goodness, you'll want to make this colorful and highly addictive treat!

Ingredients:

– 4 oz dark chocolate chips

– 1/4 cup sugar

– 1/4 cup whole milk

– 1/8 tsp salt

– 1 tsp vanilla

– 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

– 1 cup heavy cream, cold

Optional: additional heavy cream to make a whipped cream for serving and g.f. chocolate chip cookies for topping the mousse.

Directions:

*See the photos below for a visual step-by-step of the process.

Place the chocolate chips, milk, salt, and sugar in a glass microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Whisk until melted. You might need another 5-10 seconds if the chocolate chips are not entirely melted.

Add the vanilla to the chocolate.

In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until completely smooth.

*Tip: It is really important that your cream cheese is not cold. I tend to be very impatient in waiting for cream cheese to be room-temperature, so I often microwave the cream cheese. Remove the cream cheese from the foil and place on a glass plate. Cut the cream cheese into chunks, and microwave for about 15 seconds.

After the cream cheese has been beat and is completely smooth, beat in the melted chocolate mixture. Set aside.

Now it is time to beat the heavy cream.

* Tip: I always put a metal bowl in the freezer for at least 10 minutes prior. This helps keeps the heavy cream cold while whipping.

Beat the heavy cream with the whisk attachment until you reach the desired thickness.

Fold the whipped heavy cream into the chocolate mixture with a spatula. This will take a few minutes of careful folding, gentle stirring, and lightly pressing with the spatula to fully incorporate.

Spoon the desired amount of mousse into glass cups and smooth the tops with a small spatula. This recipe will easily make 8 – 10 servings. Store in the fridge for an hour or until ready to serve.

*Optional: Prior to serving, you can whip a small batch of heavy cream with a bit of powdered sugar and a tiny bit of vanilla. Dollop the whipped cream on top and sprinkle with the chopped chocolate chip cookie.

Chocolate Mousse with Cookie Crumble

There are many ways to make mousse. This recipe is easy and foolproof. This chocolate - cream cheese mousse is also decadent and not overly sweet. Trader Joe's G.F. Chocolate cookies are very crunchy and when given a quick chop, they are the perfect addition to this dessert. *The inspiration for this recipe comes from bakingbites.com
